ABSTRACT:

This qualitative research study aimed to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has caused stress and its contributing factors from the perspective of senior citizens who have experienced it first-hand. A set of semi-structured questionnaires were asked and answered by ten respondents from Cabuyao City. The participants' responses were interpreted and categorized into themes such as family, financial strain, grief and loss, and challenges of restricted mobility. The findings of this study suggest that senior citizens, regardless of economic stability and health concerns, have all experienced being stressed due to the pandemic. However, senior citizens have managed to cope and deal with mental stress through different coping strategies to be able to alleviate their stress.
